Job Purpose: The Traffic Officer is a sworn-in member and is accountable for
maintaining safety, law, and order on the roads via effective
law enforcement things to do as prescribed in the relevant
legislation.


KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct tremendous regulation enforcement to make certain protection on the roads.
• Stop automobiles for inspections.
• Issue visitors fines / citations and warnings.
• Impound automobiles that are no longer street worthy, illegally parked or abandoned.
• Conduct factor obligation (traffic control)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Matric/Grade 12
• Traffic Officer Diploma
• 12 Months operational experience

• Valid EB using license

• Examiner of Driving License and Examiner of Vehicles diplomas will be an added
advantage.
KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:
• Understanding of Law Enforcement principles
• Knowledge of street site visitors systems, practices, and processes
• Understanding of the Road Transport sector
• Understanding of street site visitors administration legislation
• Knowledge of the Road Traffic Management Corporation Act, National Road Traffic
Act, Criminal Procedure Act

The traffic officer was directing traffic when he saw the car speeding down the road. He yelled at the driver to stop, but the driver just kept going. The officer chased after the car and finally caught up to it. He pulled the driver over and gave him a ticket.
